Common Questions

Discussing financial questions
What is Telepsychiatry?

Telepsychiatry connects Providers with their patients via online video sessions. With telepsychiatry, there is no need for either patient or Provider to travel to an office. With a telepsychiatry platform, HIPAA-compliant video sessions can take place from anywhere – all that is needed is a broadband internet connection, a computer or laptop, and a webcam. This convenience expands the Providers’ availability and outreach and makes it easier for clients to participate from the comfort of their homes.

What will happen during the first appointment?

The client will meet with the provider for an extensive interview and psychiatric evaluation lasting about 45-60 minutes. During this, the Provider will gather some information, such as the history, symptoms, and family dynamics. Within this first session, the Provider will determine the best action plan to move forward.

How long are follow-up appointments?

Visits depend on multiple factors that are specific to each patient. On average, adult medication management follow-up appointments are initially scheduled at intervals of 2 weeks. After that, the timeline between follow-up appointments increases to 1 month and may expand from this point based
on the needs of the patient and the type(s) of medications prescribed.
